Removing shading from your greenhouses or polytunnels is much safer and efficient than traditional manual methods

It's the same playbook you're already used to - your own manufacturer's shading remover, onto the roof, at the rate they specify. The difference is where it's applied from. We fly mapped lines above the structure, so every square metre gets the same dose instead of whatever the crew managed to reach. Same product you'd be using anyway, just put on far more evenly. Here's what that means on your site.


Nobody goes on the roof. The aircraft flies above the structure and never touches it. No ladder, no scaffold tower, no roof access risk assessment - because there's no roof access. A slip and a boot through a pane aren't made less likely, they stop being possible.


The lines are flown to a map, not eyeballed. We plan them over your roof outline before we start and the aircraft holds them. Every square metre gets the same dose because that's how the machine works - not because somebody was still being careful at four o'clock on the second Friday.


Your operation carries on underneath. Nothing shuts down, nothing gets moved, and your staff keep doing their own jobs while we're overhead.


What taking shading off by hand actually costs you

1. Two people, a fortnight, and a tower

The Challenge: You already know how the job goes by hand. A crew works along the roof bay by bay, and on a site of any size that's weeks of labour - every hour of it your own people pulled off the work you actually employ them to do.

The Solution: We fly the whole structure instead. Several hectares of glass in a working day, up to 5x faster than manual methods, with your team on the ground doing their normal work. You give up one day, not a fortnight.

2. Your people on fragile glass

The Challenge: Working at height on glass or polythene is the biggest single liability on a nursery. One slip is a life-changing injury, an HSE investigation, and an insurance conversation you don't want to have.

The Solution: Nothing we operate touches your structure and nobody goes on it. Our public liability cover note is with you before we fly. The risk isn't managed with a harness and a method statement - it's removed, because there is nobody up there.

3. Waiting for the weather to take it off

The Challenge: Leave a removable coating to weather off and it goes patchy - exposed ridges clear first, sheltered bays hold it for weeks. Your light comes back unevenly, and it comes back late, just as day length is falling away.

The Solution: A removal pass takes it off on your schedule instead of the weather's. The remover goes on at the rate your coating manufacturer specifies, evenly, over the whole roof - so the light comes back across the whole site at once.

4. No record of what was actually done

The Challenge: When the far end of the site gets finished last thing on a Friday, you've no record of what went on, at what rate, or whether the last three bays were done properly at all barring getting up there yourself with a ladder.

The Solution: You get aerial imagery of the finished roof and an application record sheet - date, product, rate, area, wind and operator - in a form your assurance auditor will accept. If the imagery shows a missed area, we re-fly it free.
